Smudge: Imperfect Sketchbook

Make room for
imperfect ideas.

A simple sketchbook for iPhone and iPad.
Capture ideas as they happen, organize them in notebooks, and let them take shape.

Little sparks.
No perfect results required.

Smudge is now on iPhone!

a thought or two.doesn’t have to be perfect

Original illustration. Not an app screenshot.

Less fuss. More first drafts.

Not every idea needs to be a masterpiece.
Sometimes, it just needs a page.

A passing thought. A wonky little doodle. The beginnings of something good.
A simple notebook, not a professional drawing suite.

A place to put it all

Just you and your ideas.

Keep it simple.

01 /

Space to think.

A clean, distraction-free canvas. Open a page and follow your thought, without a drawing suite getting in the way.

02 /

A notebook for every notion.

Keep your ideas in separate notebooks. One for the everyday. One for a new project. One for the “what if?”

03 /

A natural kind of mark.

Sketch with pressure-sensitive Apple Pencil drawing on compatible iPads. A little more pressure, a little more expression.

A few decorative doodles, not app screenshots.

Same ideas. A different place.

Your ideas, kept together

Pick up the thought.
Not the paperwork.

With iCloud sync, your notebooks stay together across your supported Apple devices. So a little spark has somewhere to go next.

Connected through iCloud

Sync requires signing in to iCloud. Without iCloud, sketches stay on your device.

At your desk. Out in the world.

Room for ideas,
wherever they find you.

Spread out on iPad.

Settle into a bigger canvas and sketch with Apple Pencil on a compatible iPad.

A notebook in your pocket.

Smudge is now on iPhone. Sketch on the go, capture ideas as they happen, and make room for a little imperfection.

Apple Pencil drawing is available on compatible iPads, not iPhone.

Leave the perfect for later

Your next idea doesn’t need
to be good. Just yours.

Give it a little room. Start with Smudge.
